The administration 2016 – 2019 was able to sustain the municipal award during the previous years as the Kasiglatan LGU for 4th – 5th class municipalities in the province of Ilocos Sur during the Kannawidan Festival held at Vigan City on February 2017.
Municipal Mayor Pablito Benjamin P. Maggay II, together with the Punong Barangays and municipal employees received the said award at Vigan Convention Center on February 5, 2017 with pride and confidence for triumphantly garnering the honor as KASIGLATAN LGU and Hall of Fame Awardee under the categories Best in Culture and Arts and Best in Organic Farming . This award was garnered due to the innovative and worth emulating programs, projects and performances of the municipality.
This contest is being participated by the different municipalities in the province and it is being judged by competent and efficient personnel from the different agencies based on the criteria conceptualized by the Provincial Government.
The Municipality of Cervantes was able to achieve its success through the members of the Municipal Technical Group who diligently gathered data, documented activities, recorded events and meetings as proofs and manifestations of the top performing activities and programs.
